Heritage Cottage restoration in Sydney’s North Shore.

The Project

Deep in the leafy North Shore of Sydney, this heritage-listed cottage was in desperate need of attention since its construction in the 1910s, commonly known as ‘Jacinta’.

The young new owners had a vision and a potentially growing family, so more room was definitely needed and up to date living standards for Jacinta.

The brief for this project was quite exciting. Modernize a 1910s gem and bring it to the 21^st century while maintaining the aesthetics, character and charm of the existing home.

The result included a rear extension boasting natural light, open plan living and generous spaces. The alfresco area provides additional entertainment space blending the lines between inside and outside with stacking glazed doors. The character was maintained with iconic elements such as timber trims, exposed ceilings and exterior cladding.
